Paper Craft Crew - PCC #252

Twice in one week??? And it's ONLY WEDNESDAY!!! Holy SMOKES!! New catalog goodies have been VERY helpful in motivating me to stamp something!! YAY ME!!! Paper Craft Crew is at it again! This week we are SKETCHING!!!

Pocketful of Sunshine??? WHAT??? How can you NOT fall in love with a stamp set called "Pocketful of Sunshine"??? I made the pocket have a little more of a "denim" look by dragging my Marina Mist inkpad across the paper from the top down and then from the bottom up ... does that make sense??? Anyway, I like how it came out!

Stamps: Pocketful of Sunshine
Paper: Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Gold Foil
Ink: Basic Black, Night of Navy, Marina Mist, Versamark
Accessories: Pocket Framelits Dies, Mini Treat Bags Framelits (for sentiment), Night of Navy 1/2" Gingham Ribbon, Polka Dot Basics Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Corner Rounder Punch, Clear Embossing Powder

I love me a great sketch!!

Monday Montage #97

I love summer! I love being outside ... I love spending time with my family! We had an AWESOME weekend up at our family's condo at Bear Lake (on the border of Utah and Idaho). We ate, played games, jet skied, swam, ate some more, played croquet and just enjoyed being together!! And to top it off, I got to STAMP something!! Pretty perfect weekend, I'd say!! So now it's time to see what the Monday Montage girls are up to. Great idea, don't ya think??

I have NEVER-EVER been able to resist a stamp set with citrus in it. And I mean NEVER!! Whenever I see one, I try to talk myself out of it ... "do I really NEED another citrus stamp set??" The answer is YES!!! Duh!!! This one is particularly fun because it has a super-duper cute PUNCH that goes with it!! I'm in citrus HEAVEN!!

Stamps: Lemon Zest
Paper: Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Ink: Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: Lemon Builder Punch, Happy Birthday Thinlits Die, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Night of Navy 1/2" Gingham Ribbon

It has been SOOOO hot outside. Which means it is VERY hard for me to go running (and I hate that!!)!! I have TWO races at the end of August ... and I need to be able to stay in shape for that. Is there ANY way you can run without getting hot??? If you have any answers, let me know!!

Summer feels like it is already here!!! The temperatures have been SOOOO warm here! I actually turned on the air conditioner over the weekend. And the summer movie season has already started!! I've already seen "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Wonder Woman" ... which brings me to today's card for Monday Montage ...

I have always been a little, well ... obsessed with Wonder Woman. After all, we have the SAME FREAKIN' INITIALS, right???? I LOVED the movie!!! So I made a shield and wrapped it in the "lasso of truth" ... couldn't help myself!!

Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Crumb Cake, Red Glimmer, Gold Foil, Whisper White
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories: Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Small Star Punch, Circles Framelits Dies, Gold Baker's Twine

LOTS going on this week!! The newlyweds came over on Sunday and opened all of their gifts. That was REALLY fun!!! We filled the back of their car to the CEILING!

Monday Montage #93

And so it goes ... the LAST blog post I made was for Monday Montage THREE WEEKS ago!! SHEESH!! The wedding has come and gone ... it was a GORGEOUS day!! Things could NOT have gone more amazingly!!! So I feel it is ABOUT TIME that I shared the wedding invites with all y'all ...

I'm gonna be honest ... I do NOT "copy" cards/crafty things from people ... like NEVER (I used to do it WAAAYYYY back in the day when I first started stamping ... we're talking about the early 1990's here, people!)!!! HOWEVER ... when my daughter sent me a link to a wedding invite she saw on Pinterest created by the ever-fabulous Heidi Swapp and said to me, "I'm pretty sure you don't have the stuff to do this, but I love it!" CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!!! Bwahahaha!!! So here is what I made ...

This is what the invite looked like from the front.  I used a Minc machine (which is basically a laminator).  The trick to this is to have the photo in the background NOT be created with TONER ... and for the wording to be printed WITH toner.  You with me so far??? I COULD have used a inkjet printer to do the photos (as suggested by Heidi Swapp on her blog for the invites that she created), but since this was for my daughter's WEDDING, for crying out loud.  I'm SUPER picky and did NOT want to have any printer "banding" visible at ALL in the photo.  I had a local printing service (Heath at MasterLab Photo in Murray, Utah) print out the photos for me.  They came out BEAUTIFULLY (also primarily due to the master photography of Christie Berube - Christie Q Photography).  The photos were printed at 7"x7".   After running the photos through my LASER printer for the wording, I THEN ran each photo through the Minc laminator with some rose gold foil.  In person these look absolutely GORGEOUS (if I do say so myself!!)!!

I created a fold using my Simply Scored tool to make a faint score line 2" from the right-hand side, so that the finished invite measures 5"x7" once it is folded.  I also used my handy-dandy corner rounder on all four corners (I used it once the invite was folded ... and just had to punch the corners on the far-right side by themselves ... does that make sense???)

I used the now-retired MDS (yeah, I am one of THOSE people who canNOT let go of it!!) to created the file with the wording on it ... made it VERY easy!

Here is what the invite looks like from the back side ... I ordered some rose gold spiral clips to hold the flap closed so I could put the special "invites" behind the flap created.  I was able to create the inserts using MDS as well ... and they were ALSO run through the Minc laminator with the rose gold foil.  Was SOOOOO grateful for my handy-dandy SU paper trimmer to get them cut JUST RIGHT!!
See???? Aren't they caYOOT??? I can't tell you how happy I was with how they turned out.  And Quinn and Amelia??? They kept looking at them and making comments like, "Look how cute we are!" and "These are SO classy looking!"  They made me smile BIG TIME about it!!!

Stamps: None
Paper: Photo Paper and 24 lb. White Coverstock
Ink: LaserJet Black
Fonts:  King Basil Lite (Script for Quinn & Amelia's names), Ginora Sans (for the remaining text)
Accessories: Project Life Corner Rounder Punch, Simply Scored, Paper Trimmer, Rose Gold Spiral Paper Clips, My Digital Studio

I guess I have NO excuse to NOT clean up my house ... my craft room ... and the inside of my car, right???? Wedding is OVER!!! I think I need a trip to Disneyland ...

Monday Montage #92

Marvelous Monday Montage!!! And I'm just about 12 days away from my daughter's wedding day!!! AAAAAaaaack!!! I will be SO happy to to the actual wedding day ... that way I will have done everything that can or WILL get done and I can just sit back and enjoy!! (Wait ... the sit back part is probably not until a couple of days AFTER the wedding is over ...)

I have been feeling in a SUPER creative black hole lately. I sit and stare at my craft supplies and WILL them to make themselves into something ... and they don't ... sigh. So I've been perusing the interwebz looking for something new. Or something old that LOOKS new. Which is where I came up with this nifty accordion fold card. I guess I have never seen this before! So it was very fun to make!

Stamps: Little Cuties
Paper: Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Tasty Treats  DSP
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories: Botanical Buildings Thinlits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Project Life Corner Rounder Punch, 5/8" Burlap Ribbon, Pearl Basics, Mini Stapler

Just an observation ... WHY is it that the parents (ok, the MOM) of the bride does MOST of the work for the wedding ... and pays for most of the stuff for the wedding ... and the BRIDE gets to go on a VACATION when it's all said and done???? Seems kinda unfair, don't it???

In the mean time, click "Back" for Melissa Stout and "Next" for Amy O'Neill ... LOVELOVELOVE!!!

Fab Friday #111

Happy Fab Friday, my friends!!! I have spent SO much time in my car the past several days! My daughter lives almost an hour away. And trying to do weddings stuffs with someone who is an hour away is not always the easiest of things. So I drive ... and drive and drive and drive. Now I need a NAP!!!

Here's my card for this week's sketch challenge. I didn't even end up putting ANY stamped images on it ... not ONE!!! Truth be told, I had to pick my daughter up at the train station VERY early this morning ... and this card was something I did on the fly (code for "in a hurry"). I didn't feel like it needed an actual sentiment, anyway!

Stamps: NONE!
Paper: Whisper White, Pool Party, Tasty Treats DSP
Ink: NONE!
Accessories: Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies, Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies, White Jute Ribbon, Blushing Bride Sequin Trim

Pretty straight forward ...
